Fit check
Is TechStack a fit
for what you're trying to build?
An honest checklist so neither of us spends a strategy call finding out we shouldn't be working together. If the "great fit" column reads like you, book a call. If the "not a fit" column reads like you, we'll happily point you to a better-suited partner.

TechStack is a fit for service businesses, multi-location franchises, B2B services, and B2B SaaS companies past $40K/month in revenue that want a growth-systems install (RevOps, marketing systems, applications, search/AEO, automation, intelligence) instead of tactic-of-the-month agency work. We are not a fit for pre-revenue startups, pure e-commerce brands, or anyone whose primary buying axis is lowest price.
Great fit if…
You are past $40K/month in revenue
Enough demand to instrument, enough operating budget to fund a proper install without hoping the first month pays for the second.
You already have some working motion
A pipeline that closes, a marketing channel that produces leads, at least one system worth extending. We amplify motion; we don't generate demand from zero.
You can move on approvals in days, not weeks
Every install has a critical path. Retainers where every decision waits three weeks for a committee lose their leverage against retainer cost.
You want a system, not a tactic
You are tired of "campaign of the month" and are ready to invest in infrastructure that compounds — RevOps, attribution, retention, applications.
You want the founder in the room
Every engagement is run by Danny Newland directly. If that's a positive signal for you, we're aligned.
Not a fit if…
You need results this week
Nothing worth compounding is built in a week. Audit + install cycles are 4–12 weeks minimum; the results curve starts around week 6 for most engagements.
You are shopping on lowest price
Our fixed-fee model is transparent and defensible, but not cheap. If total spend is the primary decision axis, an offshore hourly shop will underbid us every time.
You cannot provide access
GA4, GSC, GBP, CMS, CRM, ad accounts, database — we work in read-only where possible, but "we can't give you access to the CRM" is a hard block.
You want guaranteed rankings or leads
We don't promise "#1 on Google" or "500 leads in 30 days" because no honest operator can. If those guarantees are your buying signal, a churn-and-burn agency is a better fit.
You need someone to blame if it doesn't work
Embedded engagements are collaborative — decisions are shared, results are shared, blame is shared. We're not the vendor-of-last-resort for internal politics.
What to expect
Four engagement models. Pick the one that fits.
Systems audit
~10 days, $7,500 fixed. Written report + working session. About 60% convert to a sprint or retainer; 40% self-implement.
Implementation sprint
2–6 weeks, $8K–$25K depending on scope. Tightly scoped, one working system shipped.
Embedded retainer
$4K–$25K/month, ongoing. Retainer is designed to shrink as your team owns more of the operating system we install.
Custom application
6–12 weeks, $40K–$250K. Net-new software: internal tools, portals, dashboards, customer-facing SaaS.
Questions before a call
What people ask before booking.
What is the minimum engagement?
The 10-day systems audit at $7,500 is the smallest engagement we do. Nothing shorter — anything less becomes an "informed opinion" instead of a written deliverable you can act on.
Do you work with pre-revenue startups?
Rarely. Pre-revenue companies need product-market fit work, not the infrastructure we install. We're a better fit once you're at ~$40K/month in revenue and the constraint has shifted from "can we sell it?" to "can we scale what's working?"
Do you offer equity or revenue-share?
Rarely. Our default is fixed-fee for clarity — both sides know exactly what's owed. If there's a genuinely aligned equity structure for a specific engagement we'll discuss it, but we don't discount cash for equity.
Are you a fit for e-commerce brands?
Sometimes. Our sweet spot is service businesses, multi-location franchises, B2B services, and B2B SaaS. E-commerce brands that also run a substantial services layer (subscription, education, community) are a good fit; pure DTC brands usually aren't.
Do you subcontract or use offshore teams?
No. Every engagement is run and delivered by Danny Newland and a small team of senior specialists, all US-based. No offshore, no junior staff rotations, no white-label.
What does a "growth systems consultancy" mean, exactly?
It means we treat revenue as an operating system that can be designed, built, and maintained — RevOps + Marketing Systems + Applications + Search/AEO + Automation + Intelligence, installed as one stack instead of six vendors.
